GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A former congressman and a renowned business woman are set to give graduation speeches at UW-Green Bay this May.
Mark Green, former U.S. ambassador and congressman, is slated to speak at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony on May 13.
Green served as a Wisconsin congressman from 1999 to 2007 and ran for governor in 2006. He is the current CEO of the Wilson Center, which has been ranked the world’s “number one regional studies thinktank.”
Valarie Daniels-Carter is the president and CEO of the largest female-owned franchise organization in the country: V&J Foods Holding Companies, Inc. She is set to speak at the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Daniels-Carter serves on an array of community and corporate boards, including as a board member of the Green Bay Packers and a minority owner of the Milwaukee Bucks.
With over 1,100 students applying to graduate in May, UWGB will have its 50,000th graduate this spring.
