APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — The 5th Annual Fox Cities Kidz Expo is coming up this weekend in Downtown Appleton.
The event features over 60 activity booths, displays and activities, play areas, face painting, demonstrations, giveaways, food concessions, and more.
Lieutenant Meghan Cash with the Appleton Police Department says they’re going to be there with coloring activities, fun prizes, and more.
“As part of our Kiwanis ‘n Cops ‘n Kids reading program, we will be doing readings of books every half hour-45 minutes” said Cash. “The kids that are there for that reading will then get to take that book home.”
Cash said the event is also a great opportunity for kids to have positive experiences with law enforcement.
“If a child only sees us in all of our gear and in a very serious situation, that might be their only experience with law enforcement,” said Cash. “Having opportunities like the Fox Cities Kidz Expo, and being able to connect with kids on a different level where they’re having fun and we get to be part of that fun, is something we hold close to our hearts.”
The Fox Cities Kidz Expo is on Saturday, April 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Downtown Appleton. For more information, visit foxcitieskidzexpo.com.
