DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — St. Norbert College has selected its next leader.
According to an email to the campus community, Laurie Joyner will be introduced as the college’s ninth president on Friday.
Joyner is currently president of St. Xavier University in Chicago, a role she has held since 2017. She has also served as president of Wittenberg University in Ohio and in leadership positions at Rollins College in Florida.
Joyner holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Loyola University in New Orleans and a master’s degree and doctorate from Tulane University.
Joyner succeeds Brian Bruess, who left last year to become president of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota. Thomas Kunkel is serving as interim president until Joyner takes over July 12.
