The Green Bay Phoenix women moved up the start of Thursday’s game against Chicago State at the Kress Center from 7:00 PM to 3:00 PM because of an approaching winter blast. Have to wonder might have happened if the game tipped off before noon because the earlier start produced a resounding 92-42 victory. This one was never in doubt as the Phoenix raced out to a 20-6 lead after one and it was 44-14 by halftime. Five players scored in double figures for Green Bay, led by Maddie Schreiber and Natalie McNeal with 16 points each. Schreiber went 8 of 8 from the floor. GB held Chicago State (0-16) to just 28.4% shooting from the floor. The Phoenix improved to 8-3 in the season and they’ll be off until after the holiday when they return to Horizon League play, hosting Oakland University on December 29.
