COMBINED LOCKS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — While there are reports that the blaze has been contained, officials in Combined Locks are asking residents near a warehouse fire to evacuate voluntarily for the next couple of days as crews work to fully put it out.
Crews are battling the fire at Warehouse Specialists Incorporated Supply Chain Solutions, 100 W. Prospect St.
Prospect Street, Kimberly Avenue and Darboy Road are all closed to traffic.
According to village administrator Racquel Shampo-Giese, representatives of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources have stated there are no environmental issues at this time. However, there is a lot of smoke in the area. At a minimum, village officials are asking nearby residents to keep their windows and vents closed.
The public is asked to stay away. Firefighting crews will be working overnight and possibly through Saturday and Sunday.
The warehouse stores large paper bales for a local paper mill.
