CASCO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Four men have been arrested for allegedly trying to cash a fraudulent check at two Kewaunee County banks.
Sheriffs officials say Thursday afternoon they were called to the Bank of Luxemberg – Dykesville location. The suspects had already left the scene when officers arrived at the bank. Soon after, the department received a call from the Casco location of the Bank of Luxemburg, stating that the group was now at the Casco bank.
The men left the bank and were picked up by three people waiting down the road in an SUV.
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol stopped the vehicle and arrested the four men.
Sheriff’s officials are recommending a 63-year-old Green Bay man be charged with forging checks. They recommend two 30-year-old Georgia men and a 34-year-old Georgia man be charged with being a party to the crime.
The men had allegedly attempted to cash fraudulent checks several times across the state over the past two weeks.
No formal charges have been filed in this case.
