ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Bellin Health will open a new pediatric and adolescent care clinic in Ashwaubenon.
It’ll be off State Highway 172 and South Ashland Avenue. The new facility is part of a partnership announced last year between Bellin, ThedaCare and Children’s Wisconsin.
“This is gonna be a 2 story building for pediatric care but we will also house our adolescent clinic in that building,” said Dr. Sherri Hoyman. “It will house primary care pediatrics, but also specialty care pediatrics. It’s also part of the partnership that Bellin, ThedaCare, and Children’s of Wisconsin have together.”
Bellin plans to bring in pediatric specialists, as well as some of their primary care providers.
“A lot of our children need true specialty care access, whether they need a pediatric cardiologist or a pediatric endocrinologist, we’re hoping to bring some of those specialists into this building to help out,” Hoyman told WTAQ News. “It does allow our primary care in our specialty to collaborate in the same building, but Bellin is not moving all of our pediatricians.”
With patients all the way up into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Hoyman says they’re hoping to make that specialty care more convenient and accessible.
“They sometimes can drive to Neenah, but sometimes they have to drive all the way to Milwaukee. Our goal is to bring as much of that specialty care [as we can], closer to home for them,” Hoyman said.
Construction is set to begin in December.
It’s tentatively planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2024.
