Forced to conduct virtual races the last two years, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon returned to the streets on Sunday and welcomed thousands of participants in the Children’s race, a 5K, half-marathon and full, 26.2 mile marathon.
Vincent Toroitich of Grand Prairie, Texas was the full marathon winner in a time of 2:19:52. Luke Kibat finished second at 2:22:09. Cody Arendt of Luxemburg was the top local finisher, coming in 6th place.
Damaris Areba, also from Grand Prairie captured the women’s race in a time of 2:35:36. Anna Gruesen of Oneida wound up 7th.
In the half-marathon, two local runners broke the tape first. Matt Kasten of Menasha was the men’s winner while Caitlin Kowalke of Cross Plains won the women’s race.
