FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man was arrested after a domestic abuse incident and a police chase in Fond du Lac.
Police say just after 6 a.m., they were called to an apartment complex in the 100 block of S. National Avenue, on the city’s east side. The initial information provided to police indicated the person had a gun.
Police went to the area of 15th and S. Main streets, where they learned the suspect may have been. Officers say the man get into a vehicle. They tried to pull the vehicle over, but it sped off. Police chased the vehicle through streets in the city, reaching speeds of 65 mph, before ending the chase in the area of S. Main and 13th streets.
With the help of Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies, police set up a perimeter. Soon after, they found and detained two people. One, a 16-year-old, was released to relatives.
The other, a 21-year-old man, was jailed on potential charges of strangulation and suffocation, battery and criminal damage to property.
The suspect’s name was not released as the investigation continues.
