OCONTO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — A Keshena man is dead following a single vehicle accident in Oconto County.
On Sunday, just before 11:11 pm, sheriff’s officials say a pickup truck traveling westbound on County Road U failed to stop at an intersection and entered a ditch, striking several trees. Upon arrival, sheriff’s officials found a 54-year-old man from Gillett standing on the road outside of the vehicle, where a 54-year-old Keshena man was trapped inside.
The Keshena man died shortly after at the scene.
The Gillett male sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors of the crash.
The Gillett man was transported to the Oconto County Jail and booked on charges of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle and Operating after Revocation.
