GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Residents living in the Green Bay area are asked to conserve water this Saturday while work is being done on the transmission line that transports water from Lake Michigan.
Residents and businesses in the city of Green Bay, village Ashwaubenon, village of Hobart, village of Wrightstown and town of Scott should refrain from non-essential water uses Saturday, including lawn watering, car-washing and other water-using activities.
Green Bay Water Utility says during a maintenance check of the transmission line, its robot became lodged inside a valve and the only way to remove it is by cutting into the transmission line.
While work is being done, water that is stored in water mains and reservoirs will be used.
Because Saturday sees the least amount of water flow of the week, that’s when crews will get the robot out.
