(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Packers are standing behind their top running back.
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that they will allow the NFL to do its process amid additional allegations of Josh Jacobs’ physical and verbal abuse against multiple women.
LaFleur also said that he anticipates Jacobs remaining with the team moving forward.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur had this to say.
In a statement released on Sunday, Jacobs’ attorney’s said the previous claims are “unsupported and stale allegations.”
Parsons back in time for Thanksgiving? With no unexpected setbacks, Micah Parsons and the Packers are targeting a return for the All-Pro edge rusher for the Thanksgiving game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Parsons returns to practice this week.
According to the NFL Network, he will do individual drills this week, then join team drills the next week.
LaFleur talked about the plan for Parsons.
Green Bay then has a bye week before the Rams game.
Parsons has been sidelined since suffering a serious ACL tear and meniscus injury last December.
Zeitler’s status: LaFleur had a back-and-forth with the media on the status of offensive lineman Kevin Zeitler including whether or not Zeitler has hit the wall.
And that conversation led to conversation about the Packers’ running game or lack of one.
LaFleur said that there is a lot of room for improvement in the run game and they spent some time looking at that during mini-bye.
It was brought up whether nor not the best 5 offensive lineman for the run are the best 5 for the pass. Can they be different and would they consider subbing linemen?
Through the uprights: LaFleur was also asked about the team sticking with struggling kicker Trey Smack.
The Packers play the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon.
