Courtney Haupt (Manitowoc Co. Jail)
MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A former school employee accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old pleaded not guilty Thursday.
Courtney Haupt, 33, also waived her preliminary hearing on charges of grooming of a child for sexual activity, and sexual misconduct by a school staff member.
No trial date was set. She returns to court Dec 22 for a status conference.
Police received a report she made unwanted sexual advances toward the teen.
Through the investigation, police determined Haupt participated in a pattern of behavior that was considered grooming of the child for sexual contact.
While Haupt was an employee of the Manitowoc Public School District, police say they do not believe she participated in illegal acts at any district facilities. She was a special education para-professional at Lincoln High School.
