MINNESOTA (KFGO) – On “News and Views”, Democratic Minnesota Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan shared she wants to work with republicans to ban insurance companies from using prior authorization.
It’s an approval process that’s required before they agree to cover certain treatments, procedures or medication.
“This is outrageous when we see some of these CEOs of these health insurance companies who are making money hand over fist and folks are just simply fighting to just get the health care that they paid for,” Flanagan said.
Flanagan says she has a friend who went through six medication trials before she was authorized to use the one her doctor originally prescribed.
The website for her opponent, Republican Michele Tafoya, says she will fight bureaucrats, middlemen and price-gougers that have raised health care costs.
