Green Bay Metro Fire Department
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Official determined a suspicious package found outside a downtown Green Bay building was not a threat.
Around 8:46 a.m. Friday, Green Bay Metro Fire was dispatched to a hazardous materials call in the 200 block of N. Adams Street.
Fire crews requested a K9 officer with bomb detection capabilities, and the Green Bay Police Department was dispatched to assist with the incident.
Upon arrival, the K9 officer did not alert to any possible bomb threats. Following this, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department Hazardous Response Teams brought additional detection equipment to rule out other possible threats.
Inside the box, an American flag and a letter were discovered.
The Green Bay Police Department took possession of the box and the items inside for further investigation; however does not believe there is any threat to the general public.
