GREEN BAY, WI (WLUK-WTAQ) — Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was charged Thursday with misdemeanor counts for an argument with his girlfriend.
An initial court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 17 on the charges of battery and criminal damage to property stemming from an incident May 23 at a Hobart home.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a home for an open 911 line, with dispatchers hearing yelling and swearing before the line was disconnected.
The victim told police she and Jacobs argued about Jacobs talking to other women.
“ANM and Jacobs then went into the bedroom and Jacobs was pacing back and forth. ANM grabbed her second phone from a duffle bag, and Jacobs called her a derogatory name. He made some comment to the effect that he would “do something to her”. She then tried to call the police, but believed the service was down. ANM was walking out of the door going from the house to the garage and Jacobs followed her. As ANM was trying to exit the garage door to get outside, Jacobs grabbed her and threw her to the ground and she struck her head, suffering an injury. Jacobs then took her phone from her while she was on the ground. ANM laid on the ground for a while and then struggled to walk back into the house,” the complaint states.
Police reviewed video from the home.
“The surveillance video further shows Jacobs took ANM’s phone while she was on the floor of the garage, and approximately 40 seconds later, Jacobs returns to the garage and appears to damage ANM’s phone. As expected, the surveillance video does not depict any portion of the incident that is alleged to have occurred inside the residence,” the complaint states.
The complaint does not contain any comments from Jacobs.
