(WTAQ-WLUK) — The American Red Cross says it moved its tornado relief shelter from Menasha to Appleton.
The American Red Cross shelter, previously located at Christ the Rock Community Church in Menasha has moved to Appleton North High School, 5000 N. Ballard Road.
The shelter is open to anyone seeking a safe place to stay, whether for a few hours, overnight, or for several days. Last night, the Red Cross assisted 14 individuals at the shelter.
Since the tornadoes struck, the American Red Cross has:
- Served more than 369 meals
- Distributed more than 1,009 snacks
- Provided 86 cleanup kits
- Distributed 1,918 emergency relief supplies
- Mobilized more than 113 volunteers and staff members in support of response and recovery efforts
The Red Cross is also partnering with local organizations for a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) to help connect residents with recovery resources and support services. The MARC is currently taking place at:
- Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center – 3000 E. College Ave., Appleton
- Tuesday, August 4
- 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Anyone in the Fox Valley impacted by the recent storms is encouraged to attend to access information, assistance, and resources from community partners and nonprofit organizations.
