(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) – Marquette University head men’s soccer coach David Korn announced the completion of his 2026 signing class of 15 student-athletes who will join the Golden Eagles this fall. The class includes 11 incoming freshman and four transfers. The class combines high-level academy, club, high school and collegiate experience from across the North America and Europe.
“We are thrilled to welcome this outstanding group of young men to the Marquette soccer family,” Korn said. “Four members of this class—Rio, Peyton, Edvard, and Viktor—joined us this past spring, giving them a valuable head start in building relationships and developing chemistry with our returning players. That experience will help accelerate their transition, while our remaining newcomers will immediately add athleticism, quality, depth, and a winning mentality to the squad.
“We’ve had the opportunity to build relationships with many of these players over the past two years, and that familiarity gives us great confidence in how well they’ll fit within our culture. We’re excited to see them contribute and help us reach our goals as a program.”

Adewumi joins Marquette from Sporting Kansas City’s academy system and made his MLS NEXT Pro debut in February 2026.
Liam Cahill | Central Midfielder
Madison, Wis. | Madison West HS | FC Wisconsin
One of Wisconsin’s top prep players, Cahill was a two-time First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference selection and earned WIAA Boys Soccer Player of the Year honors. He helped Madison West capture the 2025-26 WIAA Division I state title while recording 37 goals and 24 assists during his high school career. This spring, he was named Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year. At the club level, he competed for FC Wisconsin and reached the ECNL playoffs.

Firs helped Sockers FC win a National Academy Championship and brings versatility in the attacking third.
Aiden Goldberg | Left Wing/Left Back
Lake Zurich, Ill. | Sockers FC / Chicago Fire Academy
Goldberg totaled 11 goals and 19 assists during the 2025-26 season with Sockers FC. He competed for both Sockers FC and the Chicago Fire Academy while helping Sockers FC claim a National Academy Championship.

Hackaa arrives from Swedish club Assyriska FF after competing in one of Sweden’s established player-development environments.
Peyton Hoard | Center Back
Racine, Wis. | Union Grove HS | Bavarian United
Hoard helped Union Grove win a Wisconsin state championship and earned all-conference recognition during his prep career while serving as a team captain. He later joined Bavarians MLS Next team where he was a consistent starter in the back line.
Edvard Liljedahl | Right Back/Right Wing
Stockholm, Sweden | Huddinge IF
Liljedahl represented Sweden at the U-16 national team level and developed with the Djurgården academy. He also competed for Vasalunds IF, Huddinge IF and Aspudens IF before enrolling at Marquette this spring.
Chidube Nwankwo | Forward
St. Louis, Mo. | St. Louis CITY SC / St. Louis City II
Nwankwo developed within the St. Louis CITY SC academy system and adds another dynamic attacking option to the Golden Eagles’ frontline.

Pehar spent the last seven years playing for Chicago FC United and enrolled at Marquette during the spring semester.
Will Slawinski | Goalkeeper
Brookfield, Wis. | FC Wisconsin/RKC Third Coast
Slawinski earned All-Great Lakes Region honors, first-team all-conference recognition and ECNL Selection Game honors. He helped Brookfield East reach three consecutive state tournament appearances and posted a 0.21 goals-against average. At the club level, he helped FC Wisconsin qualify for the national playoffs.

Engh arrives after two seasons at UNC Wilmington, where he appeared in 10 matches and posted a 1.85 goals-against average. The former Norway youth national team goalkeeper recorded 35 saves in 2025. He joined the Golden Eagles during the spring semester.

Maldonado Frei comes to Marquette after one season at FIU where he played in 10 matches while earning three starts. In Switzerland he spent time with Meyrin FC, Lancy FC, US Terre Sainte, Xamax FCS U21, and FC Stade Nyonnais.
Felix Masson | Defender
Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada | Louisville
Masson joins the Golden Eagles after spending the 2025 season at Louisville. Prior to his collegiate career, he trained with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy and represented Team Yukon at the Canada Summer Games.
David Siemionko | Central Midfielder
Mount Prospect, Ill. | Loyola Chicago
Siemionko transfers to Marquette from Loyola Chicago after previously competing for FC United, helping the club reach the MLS NEXT Playoffs. He played in 20 games during two seasons with Loyola, totaling a pair of assists, both coming in 2024.
