WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Flight for Life – ThedaStar is expanding its air medical services in Wisconsin through a new helicopter base in Waupaca.
According to a press release, the new base will be at the Waupaca Municipal airport.
It is expected to open on November 1.
The Waupaca base marks the program’s fourth helicopter in the state, with the other three in Neenah, Hartford and Burlington.
“The opening of our Waupaca base represents exactly why we brought these two programs together,” Flight for Life – ThedaStar Executive Director Leif Erickson said.
“By adding a fourth aircraft and strategically positioning it in Waupaca, we’re able to efficiently respond to more patients while strengthening our ability to serve EMS agencies, hospitals, and communities throughout this region.”
Earlier this year, Flight for Life and ThedaStar merged into a single air medical program.
