(UW ATHLETICS) – Wisconsin men’s hockey associate head coach Todd Knott will serve as an assistant coach with the 2026 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team that will take part in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this coming August.
This year’s event takes place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, from Aug. 3-8.
Knott, who helped the Badgers finish as NCAA runners-up this past season, makes his second appearance with a United States team. He served as an assistant coach with the 2009 U.S. World Junior A Challenge team that included future Badger forward Craig Smith.
The 2023 American Hockey Coaches Association’s Terry Flanagan Award winner for his career body of work as a collegiate assistant coach, Knott was also ranked the No. 1 college hockey recruiter by a panel of NHL scouts, USHL executives, against and other college coaches according to The Athletic in 2022.
Knott helped the Badgers to the NCAA title game this past spring and has helped direct collegiate programs to three Frozen Fours and 10 NCAA Tournament appearances in 14 seasons.
