HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The expansion and renovation of the busiest YMCA facility in Green Bay is getting its start.
The Greater Green Bay YMCA west side facility in Howard held its groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.
The project includes renovating the existing fitness and locker room areas, along with other common spaces, play areas and child-watch space in the nearly 30-year-old facility. The expansion part of the project will add a six-lane lap pool and another 7,500-square-foot gymnasium, including space for pickleball. Space for a physical therapy clinic will also be added.
The $9 million project is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2027.
