Downtown Appleton
APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton is one of the safest midsized cities in America.
A study by SmartAsset analyzed 300 midsized cities— those with populations between 65,000 and 250,000 — to identify the safest in the United States. Appleton came in at number 10.
The study was based on metrics like violent crime rate, property crime rate, motor vehicle fatality rate and natural disaster risk.
Bloomfield, Colorado took the top spot.
Waukesha was the only other Wisconsin city in the top ten at number 8. Eau Claire was just below Appleton at number 11.
