GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The former treasurer of Allouez Girls Softball is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the organization over 11 years.
Mary Anne Bauer, 56, of Howard, was charged Tuesday in Brown County Court with theft between $10,000 and $100,000.
According to the criminal complaint, Bauer left Allouez Girls Softball in Oct. 2024. She had been treasurer since at least 2013. In early 2025, the president of the organization reported its account only had $745.38 in it. When Bauer left three months earlier, she reported the balance was $28,437.09.
The club reviewed the bank documents and found charges for Netflix, local restaurants, Uber, Door Dash, Venmo, and other services indicating Bauer was using the funds to pay for things unrelated to the club, the criminal complaint summarizes. Members of the board highlighted disputed charges and provided the documents to law enforcement. There were approximately $103,000 in disputed charges.
Bauer spoke with a Brown County Sheriff’s Office investigator in May 2025 over the phone and agreed she owed the club about $28,000 but declined further comment after hiring an attorney.
Investigators say Bauer had primary control over the organization’s finances for years.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
