(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers struggled to field bunts against the Washington Nationals in the ninth inning, allowed 4 runs to score and lost 7-3 at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Friday.
The ninth inning rally started when Trevor Megill hit CJ Abrams with a pitch, Joey Wiemer followed with a bunt single and Luis Garcia singled up the middle for a 4-3 Nationals lead.
Jorbit Vivas bunted back to the mound, Megill’s throw to the plate went to the backstop and another run scored.
Drew Millas hen bunted scoring pinch-runner Nasim Nunez. James Wood then drove in the final run of the inning.
Jake Bauers had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs for the Brewers.
