(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers used late offense to knock off Tampa Bay 6–2 Tuesday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee was held hitless for more than four innings by Rays ace Shane McClanahan, but the bats broke through in the fifth.
Brice Turang drove in two runs with a single, then a replay reversal turned a rundown into the go‑ahead run.
Gary Sánchez added a solo homer in the sixth as the Brewers pulled away.
Jonathan Aranda and Nick Fortes homered for Tampa Bay.
Brandon Woodruff earned the win for Milwaukee, allowing 2 runs while striking out six in five innings.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that it was a great performance by Woodruff.
Woodruff said that physically he feels good.
He said that he used mostly his fastball against the Rays.
The Brewers wrap up the series with Tampa Bay this afternoon.
