(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY – The Green Bay men’s basketball team shot 52.6-percent from three-point range on the way to an 80-78 win over the Northern Kentucky Norse at home Sunday. The Phoenix was on fire in the first half, shooting 70.4-percent from the floor and 80.0-percent from three. Green Bay has now won four straight games for the first time this season.
The Phoenix (10-8, 5-2) had three players score in double figures, led by Justin Allen, who had 27 points. Caden Wilkins added 17 points on 5-of-9 three-point shooting, and Marcus Hall helped out with 13 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.
Green Bay shared the ball well in Sunday’s game, racking up 20 assists on 30 made field goals. Hall’s nine assists led the Phoenix, and Preston Ruedinger also added seven assists of his own.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay started out the scoring by going on a 7-0 run, culminating in a bucket from Allen, to take an early lead with 18:05 left in the first half. The Phoenix then added nine points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 51-35 advantage. Green Bay relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down eight shots to account for 24 of its 51 points. Wilkins scored all 17 of his points in the first half of the game.
