(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team opened the year with a lopsided win.
The 24th-ranked Badgers beat Campbell 96-64 at home.
Badgers coach Greg Gard said that his team needs to work on some defensive fundamentals.
He said that this was step one with some good and some not-so-good things on the court.
John Blackwell led the way for Wisconsin with 31 points, while Nolan Winter put up 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Blackwell said that he (Blackwell) has improved as a 3-point shooter.
Winter talked about making the position switch to center.
The Badgers will be back on the floor Friday hosting Northern Illinois.
