(UW ATHLETICS) – Elijah Gray has been dismissed from the University of Wisconsin-Madison men’s basketball team related to events preceding his enrollment at UW-Madison.
Gray arrived in Madison as a fourth-year senior transfer this summer and had yet to play a game for Wisconsin.
Privacy laws limit the university’s ability to share more at this time.
Blackwell on the Jerry West Award watch list: A Wisconsin men’s basketball player is a candidate for a prestigious award.
Badgers guard John Blackwell was named to the watch list for the Jerry West Award, given to the top shooting guard in men’s college basketball.
Blackwell averaged 15.8 points and five-point-one rebounds in 37 games last season.
Badgers football on bye: The Wisconsin football team will not play this week.
The Badgers are on their final bye week of the season.
Wisconsin is 2-and-6 this season and has lost six games in a row following a 21-7 loss to Oregon last weekend.
Hunter Simmons completed just seven of 21 passes for 86 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the setback.
The Badgers will next play November 8 against Washington at Camp Randall.
