(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 133-120 win over the Washington Wizards in the season-opener for both sides.
Antetokounmpo had game-highs of 37 points and 14 rebounds and was one of seven Milwaukee players to reach double figures in scoring.
Bucks coach Doc Rivers talked about Antetokounmpo’s playmaking.
Rivers also talked about the team’s 3-point shooting.
He addressed the team’s lack of an identified No. 2 scorer.
Gary Trent Jr. contributed 17 points and Myles Turner had 11 points and eight rebounds in his Bucks debut.
Antetokounmpo said that the Bucks are a dangerous team.
Turner said that he likes the offense.
Khris Middleton scored 23 points is his return to Milwaukee, while Kyshawn George added 21 points and nine rebounds in the Washington setback.
The Bucks play at Toronto on Friday with the pre-game beginning at 5 and tipoff at 5:30 on 99.7 and 101.9 WNFL.
Bucks lose Porter to injury: The Bucks could be without a key member of their rotation.
Guard Kevin Porter Jr. will undergo an MRI on his ankle after he left the team’s season-opening win over the Wizards in the first quarter.
Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers said the injury “didn’t look good.” Porter had 10 points and two assists in under 10 minutes before his exit.
