Cubs manager Craig Counsell said he was happy for Happ who put the Cubs ahead 3-0 in the first inning.
Starting pitcher Matthew Boyd threw six strikeouts through four-plus innings and Daniel Palencia was credited with his third win of the season out of the bullpen.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Boyd’s performance after the Milwaukee had roughed him up in the first game of the series.
The best-of-five series is now tied 2-2. The
Brewers managed just three hits and went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
Freddy Peralta was charged with the loss after allowing three runs through four frames.
Murphy said he knew that Peralta wishes he had that pitch back that he (Peralta) threw to Happ.
Murphy said that now it’s a matter of getting momentum back for Game 5.
The Brewers will host the Cubs in Game Five on Saturday.
