(LEARFIELD) – Wisconsin Badgers junior John Blackwell has been named to the preseason All-Big Ten Conference team.
Blackwell averaged nearly 16 points per game last season, topped 25 four times, and put up 32 in Wisconsin’s 116-85 win over Iowa.
He and his teammates take the court this Saturday for the Red White Scrimmage.
The regular season opens with an exhibition in the Bad Boy Mowers Series in the Fiserv Forum October 24th against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Goalkeeper of the week: Wisconsin women’s soccer goalkeeper Drew Stover has been named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season, following the Badgers’ 3-0 shutout victory at Minnesota.
Stover recorded five saves against the Golden Gophers to secure her sixth clean sheet of the season and 15th of her career. The junior has now totaled 35 saves this season and started every match, leading the Big Ten with 1,170 minutes played.
Stover will continue anchoring Wisconsin’s back line at their next game on Thursday, Oct. 9, when the Badgers host No. 9 UCLA, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
