MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A male died in a shooting in Manitowoc early Tuesday morning and another is in custody.
Around 1:34 a.m., the Manitowoc Police Department received a 911 call reporting a disturbance between two males in the 2400 block of Dewey Street. It was also reported that multiple gunshots were fired.
During the exchange of gunfire, one of the individuals was struck and taken by a private vehicle to the 1200 block of South 17th Street.
When officers arrived at that location, life-saving measures were initiated but were ultimately unsuccessful. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The suspect who remained at the Dewey Street location was taken into custody by the Manitowoc Police Department and is currently being held at the Manitowoc County Jail, with charges forthcoming.
