(LEARFIELD) – For the second time in five days, the Green Bay Packers have whipped one of last season’s playoff teams – and did it decisively.
Thursday’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders was more one-sided than the score indicates.
Being ever the coach who is looking for more from his team, Packers coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t ecstatic over how his team played.
LaFleur said that the offense needs work but the defense was good.
Specifically about the offense, he said there was some good and some not-so-good.
LaFleur was asked for an adjective to describe his defense.
Regarding the offense, what does a couple of 90-yard touchdown drives tell him?
LaFleur talked about getting off to a 2-0 start.
The Green Bay defense kept Jayden Daniels from running wild and held the visitors to 230 total yards.
Quarterback Jordan Love was 19-of-31 for 292 yards and two scoring passes to Romeo Doubs and Tucker Kraft.
Josh Jacobs ran for 84 yards and the Packers’ third score.
Green Bay will take its 2-and-0 record into a September 21st game at Cleveland against the Browns.

Down and out: Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed will miss playing time with the Packers after suffering a broken collarbone in Thursday night’s win.
