(LEARFIELD) GREEN BAY – The Packers claimed victory in their home opener for the 13th straight time Sunday with a 27-13 decision over the Detroit Lions.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he was proud of his team after what the Lions have done to the Packers in the last few meetings.
Quarterback Jordan Love said that it was a great win.
Micah Parsons picked up a sack in his first start for Green Bay.
Parsons said that he really had to work for that first sack.
LaFleur talked about what Parsons means to the defense.
Love fired a pair of first-half scoring passes to Tucker Kraft and Jayden Reed, and Josh Jacobs added a late TD.
Love talked about spreading his 16 pass completions around to 10 different receivers.
Packers running back Josh Jacobs said playing mistake-free football was huge.
The Lions averaged more than 33 points a game while going 15-and-2 last season but they didn’t reach the end zone Sunday until less than a minute was left.
LaFleur said that it was a great day by the defense.
It’s a short week for Green Bay.
The Packers welcome the Washington Commanders to Lambeau Field for Thursday Night Football.
