(LEARFIELD) – Jose Quintana pitched into the seventh inning and Isaac Collins hit a three-run homer as the Brewers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6-3 at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
The Brewers took a 5-0 lead in the first inning with a rally that was capped by Collins’ home run.
Collins said that things are going good for the Brewers and they hope to keep it going.
As for the 5-run first inning rally capped off by his home run, Collins had this to say.
Quintana (11-5) allowed three runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out six and walking three.
Quintana talked about the win.
He said that the key to his success against the Phillies was making adjustments from his last start.
Jared Koenig tossed a scoreless ninth for his first save.
Milwaukee, which swept three games in Philadelphia earlier this season, clinched the season series and a potential tiebreaker against the Phillies.

Brewers’ Miller done for the season: The Milwaukee Brewers placed veteran right-handed reliever Shelby Miller on the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Talking to reporters, Miller says he’s facing the possibility of a second Tommy John surgery as he deals with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow.
Miller says he planned to speak with Dr. Keith Meister regarding his MRI results and to get feedback on the next steps.
Miller, who turns 35 next month, previously underwent Tommy John surgery in 2017.
