(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers survived a five-run rally by Arizona to win Monday’s home series opener 7-5 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee had built a six-run lead before the rally.
Andruw Monasterio and Caleb Durbin knocked the ball out of the park.
Durbin talked about trying to bounce back after losing 2 straight series.
He said that this was a big win.
Starter Brandon Woodruff earned his fifth win, and Abner Uribe picked up the save.
Woodruff who allowed 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings said that it was a good night.
Woodruff talked about Uribe’s 11-pitch ninth inning save.
Woodruff said that the team just has to keep fighting.
The Brewers lead second-place Chicago by five-and-a-half games.
Jacob Misiorowski gets the start in Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks.
