(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers dropped a second straight home series when San Francisco scored two runs in the ninth Sunday at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
The 4-3 defeat gave Milwaukee five losses in its last eight games and melted its Central Division lead over the Cubs to five.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said the team is not trending in the right direction.
He also talked about losing the series to the Giants.
Caleb Durbin’s home run had put the home team on top in the fifth.
Brandon Lockridge and Christian Yelich knocked in the Brewers’ other runs.
Closer Trevor Megill took the loss after blowing a save for the third time in his last four chances.
Murphy talked about Megill’s recent stretch.
Murphy said that the Giants are not a bad club.
Milwaukee still has the best record in Major League Baseball and will take it into a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Monday.
Brandon Woodruff will get the start.
