(LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers who play the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday will have joint practices with the Colts on Thursday.
Packers quarterback Sean Clifford said that joint practices aren’t like preseason games because exhibitions are pretty vanilla.
Clifford said that whatever chances they get, they have to take advantage of.
Clifford said that he’s excited for Saturday’s game.
But added that he’s not nervous for Saturday.
Meanwhile, from the wide receiver room, top draft choice Matthew Golden said so far, so good.
He’s looking forward to the joint practice with the Colts on Thursday.
Golden added that he’s just doing his thing while some other receivers have had some health issues.
Short on safeties: Injuries mean the Packers will be running short on safeties as training camp moves forward.
Sports Illustrated reports that players like Xavier McKinney and Zayne Anderson are expected to return to the team practices soon.
For this week, defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will have to scramble to cover for their absences.
Cornerback Nate Hobbs is also out of action, and Green Bay will be stressed in the secondary for this weekend’s preseason game at Indianapolis.
