(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers ran their winning streak to six in a row with a 5-4 decision over the Braves at Atlanta Wednesday.
Twenty-one wins in 25 games have helped Milwaukee build a four-game lead over the Cubs.
Andrew Vaughn and Blake Perkins belted home runs, and veteran lefty Jose Quintana earned his ninth pitching victory.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that it was more good pitching for the Brewers.
Murphy said that he’s amazed how effective Vaughn has been.
He added that going to Atlanta with this young team and sweeping the Braves is something.
Murphy said the sweep was because of a lot of players.
Trevor Megill survived a Michael Harris home run to put up save number 26.
The Brewers are off today Thursday with a home game against the Mets set for Friday.
