(LEARFIELD/WNFL) – The media got to speak to Packers defensive co-oridinator Jeff Hafley on Wednesday about a variety of things including the potential impact of linebacker Isaiah Simmons.
Hafley said that Simmons has looked good early.
He was also asked about what’s different with Lucas Van Ess this camp.
Hafley said that last year at this time, they were still trying to figure out what they wanted to be.

Morgan looking like a first-round pick: His coach says offensive lineman Jordan Morgan is starting to look like a first-round draft pick.
Morgan missed almost half of last season with the Packers while he dealt with a shoulder injury.
Packers Wire reports that Green Bay’s offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich says his young lineman has looked “solid” while competing at the tackle and guard positions.
Morgan has been one of the early standouts during training camp.
Roster moves: The Green Bay Packers have signed linebacker Jared Bartlett and released safetty Kahzir Brown. The moves were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Bartlett (6-2, 238) was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Jets on May 9, 2025. In college, he played at West Virginia University (2019-23) and the University of Cincinnati (2024). Overall, Bartlett played in 61 games, recording 204 tackles (107 solo), 21½ sacks, 32½ tackles for a loss, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. In his final college season, he earned All-Big 12 honorable mention from the league’s coaches and second-team All-Big 12 honors from Phil Steele’s College Football after posting career highs in tackles (69), solo tackles (34), tackles for a loss (11½), sacks (7½) and passes defensed (three). Bartlett will wear No. 51 for the Packers.
