(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD/PACKER) – The Green Bay Packers continue their training camp schedule.
Green Bay linebacker Quay Walker and cornerback Micah Robinson returned to the field Thursday after being activated from the physically unable to perform list.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur talked about Walker passing his physical.
LaFleur said that he was happy with Day 1 of practice.
The Packers will play their first preseason game at home against the Jets on August 9.
Simmons’ role: During the off-season, the Green Bay Packers signed free agent lineback Isaiah Simmons.
LaFleur discussed what role they envision Simmons playing.
And what could Simmons bring to the team?
Simmons who played for the New York Giants last season was the eighth overall pick of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Walker looking for positive things: Green Bay Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker is looking for big things from the team season including the running game and the offensive line being strong overall.
Why does Walker think the offensive line can be better this season?
Walker also talked about how he can help the offensive line as a whole be better.
National media has talked about whether or not Jordan Love is the quarterback to lead the Packers to the Super Bowl.
Walker tried to put an end to that discussion.
Packers throwback uniforms look way back: The Packers throwback uniforms will be a tribute to the first time stock in the team was sold.
A Green Bay team first took the field in 1919, but the stock was sold four years later in 1923 to keep the team operating.
Sports Illustrated reports that this time, the alternate jerseys will be navy blue with dark gold numbers and dark blue stripes.
That’s what the Packers were wearing 102 years ago.
The throwback helmets will be painted to look like the leather helmets that players wore a century ago.
It’s not known when those uniforms will be used in a game, but it will be at Lambeau Field.
