(LEARFIELD) – Wisconsin Badgers football coach Luke Fickell says he and his team are embracing the challenge of one of the toughest schedules in the country.
Sports Illustrated reports that Fickell said, “We understand what being a part of the Big Ten is.”
His comments came during Big Ten media days.
Fickell tells reporters to be the best: “You’ve got to beat the best.”
He says the situation presents what he calls “an unbelievable opportunity.”
Meanwhile, Badgers quarterback Billy Edwards talked about the transition for him from Maryland to UW.
He said that he’s off to a good start as a Badger.
Badgers center Jake Renfro said that it’s been a long off-season and ht’s excited to get things rolling with the start of fall camp next week.
He talked about UW facing such a difficult schedule this season that includes road games at Alabama, Michigan and Oregon and home games against Ohio State and Illinois
The Badgers open their season Thursday, August 28th at Camp Randall against Miami of Ohio.
