(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers knocked out All-Star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto with five runs in the first inning on the way to a 9-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
New first baseman Andrew Vaughn pounded a three-run homer in his first at-bat.
Vaughn talked hitting that home run.
Christian Yelich also had a home run.
Starter Freddy Peralta earned his 10th win by pitching six shutout innings to hand the Dodgers their fourth straight defeat.
Peralta said that it was great to pitch with a lead.
He talked about his plan for pitching to the Dodgers.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy discussed chasing Dodgers starter Yoshi Yamamoto in the 1st inning.
Rookie Jacob Misiorowski gets the start Tuesday night at American Family Field.
The Dodgers will counter with Clayton Kershaw (4-0, 3.43 ERA).
