(LEARFIELD/247NEWSSOURCE) – It was not quite the day the Milwaukee Brewers had hoped for yesterday. They split their doubleheader with the New York Mets, winning the opener 7-2 behind a go-ahead home run from Joey Ortiz who talked about it after the game.
Ortiz also talked about how good Freddy Peralta was.
Peralta allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6 to get the win.
In the second game, Brandon Nimmo hit his own grand slam to lead the Mets to a 7-3 win and help them stop a 4-game losing streak. Nimmo’s grand slam came off of Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski. Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about Misiorowski’s outing in game 2.
Murphy discussed what Misiorowski can take away from the game.
Misiorowski lasted just 3 2/3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks.
Misiorowski said that the Mets have good hitters.
The Brewers and Mets play game 3 of the series tonight with Jose Quintana going for the Brewers. David Peterson pitches for the Mets.
