(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers scored 6 times in the fourth inning, finished with 13 hits and defeated the Colorado Rockers 10-7 Friday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
With the first-place Chicago Cubs losing to Houston, the Brewers with the win closed to within 2 games of first place in the National League Central Division.
Chad Durbin had 3 hits for Milwaukee while Jackson Chourio had a home run and 4 RBI, William Contreras, Sal Frelick and Bryce Turang each tacked on 2 hits.
Jose Quintana got the start for the Brewers and allowed 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks over 5 2/3 innings. He improved his record to 6-2.
Kyle Freeland started and took the loss for Coloarado. He fell to 1-9 after allowing 6 runs on 8 hits over 4 innings.
The two teams meet this afternoon in the second game of the 3-game series. The pre-game show starts at 2:35 with the first pitch at 3:10 on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
