(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) – Senior guard Kam Jones of the Marquette University men’s basketball program was selected 38th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Thursday night.
MU has had 60 players previously selected in the NBA Draft, beginning with Gene Berce (New York) in 1948. Marquette has had at least one player
selected in the draft in each of the last three seasons.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper was selected 24 overall in 2023 by Sacramento but was traded that night to Dallas. In 2024, Tyler Kolek (New York) and Oso Ighodaro (Phoenix) were picked 34 and 40 , respectively.
Jones was a Consensus Second Team All-America honoree and unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection as a senior in 2024-25. He averaged 19.2 points per outing and his 5.9 assists per game ranked among the national leaders. He was a nalist for the Bob Cousy Award (nation’s top point guard) in his rst season playing the position and nished second all-time at Marquette in scoring (2,044 points).
Jones joins former Marquette players Jimmy Butler (Golden State), Jamal Cain (New Orleans), Jae Crowder (Sacramento), Oso Ighodaro (Phoenix),
Tyler Kolek (New York) and Olivier-Maxence Prosper (Dallas) currently active in the NBA ranks. Doc Rivers, head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, is
also a Marquette alum.
