(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers dropped the first game of a home series against the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night, 5-4.
That snaps a four-game winning streak.
Milwaukee had wiped out a 4-2 deficit before the winning run crossed the plate in the sixth inning on a triple by Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
Outfielder Christian Yelich kept his hot streak going with a home run, a single, and two RBIs.
Nick Mears took the loss in relief.
Starter Chad Patrick pitched 5 innings, allowing 4-runs on 9 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.
Patrick talked about the Pirates getting to him early.
Patrick said that things get harder with every start.
