(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers built a five-run lead, then held off a Minnesota rally in Sunday’s 9-8 victory in Minneapolis.
That gave Milwaukee a sweep of the weekend series.
First baseman Rhys Hoskins had a home run, a double, and two runs batted in.
Brice Turang homered with two on, and Caleb Durbin had three hits.
Rob Zastrynsky earned the win in relief with Trevor Megill getting the save
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that the bullpen did a good job.
Murphy noted that Megill hadn’t had a 4-out save since last September.
Murphy said that Quinn Priester who started and allowed 3 runs on 9 hits over 3+ innings didn’t have as much stuff on his pitches as usual.
The Brewers host the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night with Chad Patrick starting the first game of the series.
The current four-game winning streak has Milwaukee just three-and-a-half games behind the first-place Chicago Cubs in the National League Central Division.
