APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton’s Common Council decided Wednesday to rename Memorial Park to Veteran’s Memorial Park.
The vote passed 13 to 1.
Passing the resolution doesn’t just mean a new name for the park. It also means the city will make a plan to relocate and add memorials to the park.
The city will also work with local veterans groups to commemorate the renaming.
The change is expected to happen this year.
