(LEARFIELD) – While his teammates open a series in Wrigley Field against the Cubs, veteran Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff will try to restart his injury recovery.
The team says he will throw a bullpen session starting Wednesday or Thursday of about 40 pitches at American Family Field.
Sports Illustrated reports that could lead to another Minor League rehabilitation assignment of a couple of games.
Woodruff has already had two rehab efforts this season.
The last one ended when he was hit on the elbow by a line drive.
Series preview: Chad Patrick will take to the mound when Milwaukee takes on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago tonight.
Patrick is 3-6 with a 3.25 ERA.
He will be opposed by Ben Brown who is 3-5 with an ERA of 5.71.
The Brewers come into the series with a .236 team batting average which is 11th in the National League.
The Cubs have the fourth-best team batting average at .254 while second in runs scored at 385.
The Brewers have scored 316, ranking eighth in the National League.
The Cubs are fourth in the league with an ERA of 3.57 while the Brewers check in at seventh with an ERA of 3.78.
The game can be heard tonight beginning at 6:30 with the pre-game and 7:05 with the first pitch on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
